Pointed toe boots are what the fashion girlies are making a beeline for this season – no doubt due to seeing a swathe of them on the AW25 runways – but according to Google Trends, they’ve been on the rise in popularity for the last five years.
Search data reveals a 400% increase since 2020, so if you don’t already own a pair, the good news is you’re jumping on the bandwagon at the right time.
So why so popular? Tricky-to-style bottoms – such as wide-leg trousers, wide-leg jeans and barrel leg jeans – all suit a pointed toe boot. By nature, a pointed toe tends to be narrower and therefore works in balance with anything baggy, it also elongates the leg giving the flattering illusion of extra height.
Spotted recently on Adwoa Aboah and Julia Fox, who opted for very autumn/winter trend-appropriate all-black outfits, pointed toe boots, unlike their chunky biker boot counter part, make any outfit look sleeker and therefore undeniably chicer.
So, while the best autumn boots and winter boots vary from pirate boots and moto boots to sock boots and cowboy boots, one thing’s for sure, you’ll be seeking a pointed toe.
