Pastel pink nail polish for spring? It’s not exactly groundbreaking, but when it lays down the base for cherry blossom nails, TikTok loses its mind. And rightly so, as cherry blossoms are not just synonymous with spring, but the delicate floral design is the seasonal update your nails are crying out for after winter’s moody burgundy and chocolate hues.
There are several different iterations of cherry blossom nails to take inspiration from – whether it’s literal sakura-inspired petals scattered over the nail bed, or glass nails with a more graphic design. Better still, despite looking intricate, there’s an easy at-home hack to hand-painting cherry blossoms onto your nails, as demonstrated in a tutorial by Hailey Bieber’s go-to nail pro, Zola Ganzorigt.
How to create cherry blossom nails at home
Hailey originally popularised cherry blossom nails in 2024, after Zola artfully sketched the design onto her long almond nails. Zola then uploaded a step-by-step and revealed that the exact polishes she used to create Hailey’s cherry blossom nails came from OPI. Now, every year at this time, the dainty blossom design goes viral once again as spring and pastels make their seasonal appearance.
Keen to give it a try? In the reel, Zola can be seen painting on a coat of Bubble Bath nail polish for the base before dipping a dotting tool into the Alpine Snow polish and adding five tiny white dots in a circle to mimic the shape of a flower. Then, using a pin-thin brush and the shade Without A Pout (this shade is only available in the US but a good alternative is Shorts Story), she painted a tiny pink line in the centre of each white circle, or ‘petal’, before adding a tiny pink rhinestone to the centre of the flower. Proof that the prettiest nail art needn’t be unnecessarily fiddly.
