Junya Watanabe and Maison Margiela styled floor-sweeping pairs with coordinating leather jackets and shirts for the full biker effect, while Hermés adopted the cropped-at-the-knee look for their spring collection.

Not to toot our own horn but we are pros at picking the best new season buys, and not just for aesthetic reasons. When it comes to the best leather trousers, we wanted to put styles to the test that tick all the boxes in order to find pairs that look good and that’ll last for longer than just one season. We wore them to work, out shopping, and to lunch to check how comfortable they were too – cos there’s nothing worse than some ill-fitting bottoms, right? These are the pairs that came out top.
