Bonnie Wright, the actor who played Ginny Weasley, has given birth — and now we all feel ancient

Remember at the end of the Harry Potter series when we flashed forward to see Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny sending their kids off to Hogwarts? Remember thinking, those kids may have fake wrinkles drawn on their faces but they so do not look old enough to have this many kids! Well, get ready for a shock — and get ready to feel very, very old. Bonnie Wright, aka Ginny Weasley herself, has just had her first child — IRL!

The actor and her husband, Andrew Lococo, announced the birth of their child, Elio, yesterday. (Is it just us or does Elio have a magical ring to it?)

“Say hello to Elio Ocean Wright Lococo born at home on Tuesday 19th September,” wrote Bonnie on Instagram. “We’re all healthy and happy. Andrew and I are so in love with our sun 🌞!”

Bonnie explained that she had her baby at home with a birthing team. “Birth workers are amazing 🕊️ !” she wrote, adding, “Lastly thanks to Andrew my rock throughout birth quite literally as I squeezed onto you so tight and you never wavered. Elio has the most tender loving papa. Ok hormonal emotional extra long caption over!”

Many of Bonnie’s old HP co-stars congratulated her on the news.

“Awwww congratulations Bonnie and Andrew!!! Welcome to Earth, Elio Ocean!!! 💙🌊 ps. Hermione’s birthday twin, I’m sure you’ve been told!!” wrote Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the films.

Added James Phelps, aka Fred Weasley, “Huge congratulations!!”

Scarlett Hefner, who played Pansy Parkinson, wrote, “Congratulations!! Welcome Elio, he’s beautiful.”

Bonnie Wright had previously announced her pregnancy in April.

“We’re having a baby! So excited to share this beautiful land with them,” she wrote on Instagram. “What a wild and humbling journey pregnancy is, transforming to make space for new life. Andrew and I can’t wait to meet our baby later this year and become parents 🥹🌈 It feels like they’re coming to say hello in the little rainbow orb across my belly.”

Elio is officially adorable — but we are still not over the fact Ginny, the tiny little girl Harry met on Platform 9 ¾ all those years ago, is all grown up and has a baby now!
