Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds just revealed the name of their fourth child – and it’s adorable

There is no denying that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have done a great service to the nepo baby industry — after all, they’ve produced four of them. And these nepo babies are extra special – because they have consistently provided inspiration for some very, very good Taylor Swift songs. In fact, we probably wouldn’t even have the iconic fictional love story of James and Betty without them.

But I digress. We are here to talk about the latest addition to the Reynolds-Lively pack, who we can now reveal is named… Olin!

Michael Tran

Born last February, Olin is their fourth child, following daughters James,9, Ines, 7, and Betty, 4.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have been keeping their latest child’s name under wraps for over a year, but Reynolds finally let the name slip at the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine in New York City last night. While up on stage, he thanked his entire family for their support, naming each of them in the process. “I love that my entire family is here,” he added.

Let’s talk about the name “Olin” for a moment. According to The Bump, Olin is a name of Norse origin that means “ancestor’s heir.” And as it turns out, the name may actually have some personal significance to the couple’s ancestors. I’ve done some internet sleuthing and it appears that Lively’s maternal grandfather was named James Olin McAlpin. They’ve already named their eldest daughter James, so this is all making perfect sense. Plus, her maternal grandmother’s name was Willie Inez. Very cute!

Reynolds had previously joked that he and Lively were waiting for Taylor Swift to name their fourth child. After all, Swift name drops their first three daughters, James, Inez and Betty in her folklore song “Betty”.

“We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child’s name is, and I’ll say this: We’re still waiting,” he told Today earlier this year.

Obviously, it is in fact the other way round — Reynolds and Lively are responsible for naming some of the most iconic characters in the Swiftian musical universe. And we’re willing to bet Olin will be joining the gang in her next album.
