Billie Eilish has brought her root pop back but this time she’s remixed the colour

Billie Eilish has had almost as many “eras” and “aesthetics” as TikTok itself. When it comes to self expression, Billie has our heart. There’s not a cut or colour that’s too rebellious for our gal and we have to admire her audaciousness. She’s given us mullets, wolf cuts, Marilyn Monroe-inspired blow dries, retro Barbie ponytails and cutesy space buns. She’s done lilac hair, blue hair and teal hair. She’s gone jet black and bright blonde. But, perhaps her most famous “era” was the slime green root pop she added to her blacked-out strands from 2019 to 2021.

Now, Billie has delighted fans with a return to her roots (quite literally), debuting another colour clash root pop while performing in Chicago on 3rd August. She took to Instagram to share the new lava red shade, which she once again paired with raven strands and styled in cute space buns with a full blunt lash-skimming fringe.

The singer captioned the picture “remember me?” and the fan response has been wild. One wrote “who could forger?!?!?!?!” Another wrote “Billie is back, back again.” A third wrote “NEW ERAAAAAAAAAA.” And many were quick to jump to conclusions that new hair means a new album. It follows fan speculation that Billie will be releasing a new album called “Roses” imminently, with fan theories spreading on TikTok and a recent Instagram post (where Billie was holding a rose in the third slide) further fuelling suspicions.
