Copenhagen Fashion Week first debuted nearly 20 years ago, but the last few years have been its most transformative as it’s changed from a regional event into an international one. Now lovingly called “the fifth fashion week” (alongside New York, London, Milan, and Paris), CPHFW is now known just as much for its wildly inventive street style as it is for putting Scandinavian labels on the map. Want to know where fashion is going? Just take a look at what the guests are wearing.
This season’s trends lean into the Scandi-maximalist look the city does so well: graphic stripes in bold colours, extra-baggy jeans, sporty nylon jackets, sheer skirts, east-west handbags. The most popular print by far is polka dots, but menswear-inspired stripes and checks aren’t far behind.
Speaking of masculine touches, too many guests to count have adopted oversized blazers, tailored vests, and roomy trousers for a borrowed-from-the-boys look. (The footwear, though, is mostly feminine, including trendy Mary Janes, casual flip-flops, and kitten heels.)
On the accessories front, absolutely everyone is wearing knitted and crocheted caps, plus other out-there hair accessories like bold clips, mega-sized scrunchies, and pillbox hats. Bag charms are very much still happening, though Labubus are seemingly out; we’ve only spotted one in the wild so far. Peep our very favourite Copenhagen Fashion Week street style looks below.
