If 2023 was the summer of Barbie, it’s looking like 2024 is going to be the summer of blush — at least if Hailey Bieber has anything to say about it. Bieber, who just released the much-anticipated Pocket Blushes from her line Rhode, made a case for wearing shades of pink not only in your outfit but all over your face, nails, and phone.
Rhode deemed it a “hot pink summer” in their latest Instagram post, which featured founder Hailey Bieber wearing an all-black, formfitting shorts bodysuit with a trench coat thrown over the top.
Though the ‘fit itself was super neutral, Bieber’s makeup brought the colour in soft, bright pink shades on her cheeks — likely via the shade Juice Box — and lips, which were glazed with a shiny coat of the Peptide Lip Tint in Shortcake, a baby pink. The model’s nails were a more subtle shell pink, but her phone case was as bright as her blush; Rhode also released a four-piece drop of their now-iconic Lip Case phone cases so you can match your summer Lip Tint to your phone.

While Bieber wore minimal eye makeup (if any), the blush was definitely the focal point of her look, with lots of bright colour atop her cheekbones and across the bridge of her nose for a sunburned effect. We’d be remiss not to mention the jewels, too, including her new wedding diamond and the diamond bubble “J” ring she got in early spring. (Bieber is now wearing her former wedding diamond on her pinky. Chic!)
Barbie summer, which began in 2022 and peaked in 2023 after the release of the Barbie movie, was all about pink outfits. Bieber herself participated, wearing a hot pink corset with jeans for her YouTube series and a sparkly custom Vivienne Westwood minidress for a Rhode event.
Of course, with all this pink, we can’t help but wonder if Bieber is sending us sneaky little Easter eggs about her forthcoming baby, but we won’t know for sure until Baby Bieber makes their debut! Until then, consider it a hot pink summer and start adding the shade to your makeup bag ASAP.
