Asteroid City will be one of this year’s biggest films

Asteroid City is the star-studded comedy-drama set to wow audiences after it has its grand premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The movie is directed by visionary Wes Anderson, who is known for combining larger-than-life storylines and eclectic characters in classic films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Royal Tenenbaums. So, we can expect great things from Asteroid City, which stars massive names such as Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson and Maya Hawke (who we all know and love from Stranger Things!)

As per the headline, we understand that the movie is a science fiction-themed spectacle relating to a bizarre out-of-this-world space-inspired topic. So, if you want to learn more about Asteroid City, keep reading!

What is Asteroid City about?

Set in a fictional desert town in 1955, the locals gather to commemorate a small asteroid that crash-landed there way before their time. At the same time, the town also hosts a Junior Stargazer convention, where competitors admire the pristine skies above. However, something incredibly unusual happens, and events out of everyone’s control disrupt the competition.

Meanwhile, an official synopsis from its production and distribution company Focus Features reads: “The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.
