House of the Dragon has officially begun filming for season two, and we’re totally excited about this news because the first season most certainly lived up to the mammoth expectations put in place by the cult favourite, Game of Thrones.

After all, the new Sky Atlantic show, which is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood novel, was billed as a prequel to the famous fantasy drama HBO television series, with its events taking place before everything that occurred before Game of Thrones.

And with record-breaking millions of fans tuning in each week, House of the Dragon definitely entertained with its shocking revelations about the Targaryen dynasty, including the insight into the rivalry between King Viserys’ second wife Alicent Hightower and daughter Rhaenrya and the introduction to the Greens and Blacks.

So, now we have season two of House of the Dragon to look forward to, which cameras have officially started rolling for at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden. Speaking in a statement, the show’s co-creator Ryan Condal said: “House of the Dragon has returned. We are thrilled to be shooting again with members of our original family as well as new talents on both sides of the camera. All your favourite characters will soon be conspiring at the council tables, marching with their armies, and riding their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store.”
