Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026: Headliners and full line-up

Right about now… the funk soul brother is coming to Sunderland. Yes, the line-up for day one of BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026 has been confirmed and the first tickets are on sale. It’s all happening!

Radio 1’s Big Weekend is an annual music festival from BBC Radio 1 held at a different UK venue each year. For a few great years, it was totally free until a fee was brought in in 2018.

This year, the three-day festival is making it’s way to Sunderland. Day one will kick things off with a line-up the features English DJ Fatboy Slim headlining the main stage. Talk about the ’90s throwback we have all been waiting for!

The first tickets went on sale this morning for day one – but don’t worry, there are still plenty of chances to secure your spot. Here’s what we know.

When is Radio 1’s Big Weekend?

Radio 1’s Big Weekend will take place from Friday 22 May to Sunday 24 may in Sunderland’s Herrington Country Park.

Who’s headlining?

There’s bound to be a little something for everyone in the line-up this year. So far, we only know the line-up for the opening day of the festival… and Fatboy Slim is bringing some ’90s dance party energy.
