This lip mask cured my chapped lips overnight

It’s nearly impossible to talk about the best lip balms without mentioning the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. The K-beauty brand’s little pink tub has sold out multiple times since it arrived in the U.K. a few years ago and is praised for saving dry, cracked lips. So no surprise, when Glamour readers were asked to weigh in on their all-time favourite balms for this year’s Glamour Beauty Awards, this took home the crown. The best bit? It’s currently 25% off for Black Friday, dropping from £21 to just £15.75 — easily one of the hottest Black Friday beauty deals we’ve spotted.

As its name implies, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a leave-on mask that soothes and moisturises lips overnight. Which is just a fancy way of saying it’s a really thick, nutrient-rich balm that goes to work to while you’re asleep (although it’s so good, I wear it 24/7). It’s got all the good things you want in a balm: hydrating hyaluronic acid, brightening vitamin C, and antioxidants that work together to form a barrier over your lips to lock in moisture.

The flavour lineup is seriously impressive, too. It comes in strawberry shortcake, vanilla, gummy bear, pumpkin pie, sweet candy, matcha bubble tea, hot cocoa and the original berry, which features a delicious-smelling blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, and blueberry extracts (the latter is my fave).

While Black Friday 2025 can certainly save you some money, we still don’t encourage impulse purchases that won’t actually live up to expectations. So, I’ve taken it upon myself to test, review and score. Keep reading for my full review.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: at a glance

  • Tested by: Mayola Fernandes, Glamour’s Commerce Writer.
  • Price: £15.75 (down from £21) in the Black Friday sale.
  • Best for: Anyone with dry or chapped lips who wants an easy overnight moisture boost.
  • Key ingredients: Berry Fruit Complex, Vitamin C, and Coconut Oil.
  • Pros: Deeply hydrates overnight, feels lightweight on the lips, boosts moisture, and doesn’t feel sticky at all.
  • Cons: It comes with a small applicator, but I find it tricky to clean, so I usually just use my fingers instead.
  • My verdict: This is one of those rare viral beauty products that’s genuinely made it into my everyday routine — after each use, my lips look hydrated, plumper and feel noticeably softer.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: The Formula

The magic of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask lies in its buttery, melt-on-balm texture packed with nourishing, moisture-sealing ingredients. At the core, you’ve got rich emollients like shea butter, coconut oil and murumuru seed butter that glide over your lips to deeply hydrate and soften. Then, the brand’s signature Berry Fruit Complex extracts and a hit of vitamin C works quietly over time to smooth away dead skin cells and leave lips looking supple.
