Wednesday is back for a second season at Netflix. But will there be a Wednesday season 3? Ortega’s Wednesday has updated the goth-loving Addams family for Gen Z in the best way, turning the classic franchise into an epic, magical teen drama.
And this season, it’s better than ever. Lady freakin’ Gaga makes a cameo, guys! Billie Piper has also joined the cast! Johanna Lumley, too!
The first part of season 2 dropped on 6 August, while the second batch landed on 3 September.
What happens in Wednesday season 2?
“Nothing is what it seems in Season 2,” the show’s creator Miles Millar said in an interview with Tudum ahead of the season’s launch. “Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”
Well, he wasn’t kidding. This season saw Wednesday confronting her complicated relationship with her mother – she may be altogether ooky, but, at the end of the day, she is really just a teenage girl. She also begins to understand her complicated psychic abilities a little more.
Meanwhile, her polar opposite bestie Enid finally manages to assume her werewolf form without a full moon and, in an incredible finale, saves Wednesday from Isaac Night. However, things are bittersweet for Enid who learns she is an alpha werewolf, which means she’ll be more isolated than ever.
We also discover an unsettling secret about the origins of Thing — yes, that hand once belonged to Isaac Night.
Will there be a Wednesday season 3?
Yes! No need to worry on that front. Wednesday was so successful after season 1, it was renewed a third season before season 2 even came out.
“Television has — and always will be — a team sport,” said co-creator and showrunner Alfred Gough of the renewal. “[Co-creator and co-showrunner] Miles [Millar] and I have been doing this long enough to know that shows like this don’t come along every day. It’s such an alchemy of writing, directing, acting, crew, streamer, studio, and fans. We remain grateful and excited to continue this journey and tell these stories with all of our partners.”

When will Wednesday season 3 come out?
Season 3 will reportedly begin filming in the spring of 2026, which means that you could expect to see it on your screen in 2027. So, hopefully, not too long to wait this time.
What will happen in Wednesday season 3?
So far, that remains a mystery. But we do know it’ll be good.
“Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,” said Gough to Tudum. “We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
And yes, the Addams family universe will continue to grow. “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!” said Millar.
