Despite her injuries, the actor seemed in high spirits on the carpet, telling People: “I got my Crocs! I couldn’t do this in heels!”
Brooke Shields, we commend you – and that colour match? Spot on.

Actually, the actor is a long-time fan of the Croc. In 2008, she wore a Barbie-pink pair with a matching maxi dress for a date night with her husband Chris Henchy.
She’s not alone – the likes of Justin Bieber, Questlove and Nicholas Braun have also showcased the humble Croc on the red carpet. And let us not forget that Victoria Beckham once said she’d “rather die” than wear a pair of Crocs, only to go back on her statement in 2023, when she modelled a pair from the brand’s collaboration with MSCHF. Heidi Klum and FKA Twigs are also fans.
But back to Brooke, who has always been unapologetically herself. In a recent interview with Allure, she reflected on the constant commentary about her appearance, saying: “People will say, ‘Oh, you’re still beautiful!’ What do you mean still? Or, to my kids, ‘Your mother used to be so beautiful.’ Excuse me?”
She added that if she had experienced her early career in today’s social media climate, she wouldn’t have coped. “I wouldn’t have survived. I was too vulnerable and too naive.”
“I spent a great deal of my life trying to live up to an expectation that was presented as me. I’m not good enough because I don’t look like that, or that’s what I need to be doing. ‘Well, you’ve never done runway, Brooke, because you’re athletic’ — that’s a euphemism for ‘not skinny.’ As a model in your younger days, those are the messages you get — all about what you’re not. Then you get to this age and you start going through this list of all the things you are. And it’s so much more empowering than the chipping away of yourself that I did,” she said.
