Saltburn is the latest film by acclaimed director Emerald Fennell that looks so good that we’re sure we’ll soon be constantly refreshing our browsers to see if cinema tickets are available to book in advance.
After her brilliant 2020 movie Promising Young Woman, Emerald has once again joined forces with LuckyChap Entertainment, whose co-founder Margot Robbie is serving as producer on this movie, which is described as “a beautifully wicked tale of privilege and desire” and a “gothic fairytale”.
And if Emerald’s first return to the directing arena following her Oscar-winning success three years prior isn’t enough, the movie also boasts a stellar cast, including Rosamund Pike, who has given us hit after hit with films such as Gone Girl, A Private War and I Care A Lot.

If that isn’t enough, Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan, who recently won over audiences in The Banshees of Inisherin, also stars alongside Euphoria hunk Jacob Elordi.
With such a diversely talented group of actors coming together, Saltburn is centred on the story of an Oxford University student who gets lured into his aristocratic classmate’s life when he visits him for the summer.
The official plot for Saltburn reads: “Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton, who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.” The accompanying first-look images very much set the sprawling sun-drenched scene.
