Sometimes, lace, ruffles, jewels or embellishment are what you crave, and you should absolutely choose a dress that’s true to your own taste on your wedding day, but in our experience the simpler the better (and the more timeless your wedding photos will look.)

Without extra expenditure on embellishment and detailed overlays you could even upgrade to a designer gown. It’s, er, simple! More pared back looks take less of a hefty financial investment that those with lace, beading or sequin details.
Of course you will still want a dress that makes you feel like a million dollar bill but swishy crepe, smooth silk or slinky satin, cut into a simple silhouette, will do that and more, without the need for twiddly bits. (Yes, that is the technical term…)
