7 Paris Fashion Week trends you can start wearing this winter

Paris Fashion Week this season was a wet affair. The weather was not in their favour as the style set descended on the fashion capital last week, although it did make for plenty of great wet-weather street style inspo (silver linings). On the runways, however, it was a much sunnier outlook, as brands showcased their floaty, floral spring-summer 2025 collections.

While trends often begin to emerge on the New York and London Fashion Week catwalks, it’s the big French maisons like Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton that really put their stamp on what we’ll all be wearing next spring. According to these legacy houses, we’ll be seeing plenty of pastels (canary yellow is coming back you guys, as well as a fresh splash of aqua), racy lacy boudoir looks and triple XL bags.

Our favourite trends from this year are also not going anywhere and are set to reemerge with the buds next spring, from sheer dressing to diaphanous ballgowns—all with a 2025 twist, of course.

Read on to find out the 7 Paris Fashion Week trends that will be all over the rails, and our feeds, next season.

We all know pastels and spring are sartorial synonyms, but the specific hue to dominate the colour wheel takes turns every season. Butter yellow was everywhere this summer, for example, and while next season sees its brighter cousin canary yellow make its debut, spring will be welcoming a wave of aquamarine via the likes of Acne Studios and Chanel. The fairy-like hue between blue and green works particularly well with denim, making it a beautiful, versatile choice for spring.

Billowing Ballgowns

Leave it to Loewe to make florals look groundbreaking with the help of some extreme volume. Floaty frocks abounded on the catwalks, but they were given the extra-flouncy treatment. Chloé’s diaphanous gown billowed beautifully as the model strutted down the runway, while onlookers cooed over Zimmermann’s ruffled confection. The message these designers sent was clear: go big or go home.

Sheer Trousers

Remember the sheer dress craze all the celebrities went gaga for this year? Well, it’s still going strong for spring, this time taking the form of sexy sheer trousers. Issey Miyake presented a full, stark white sheer suit, while Louis Vuitton paired sheer pleated palazzo trousers with a cropped jacket. For those a little shy about showing skin, the trend feels *slightly* more casual and wearable than its predecessor, especially when worn with an oversized jumper.

Ruffled Collars

Vintage fashion shows no signs of slowing down, but designers this season are throwing it way back (as in mid-16th century to the mid-17th century) with ruffled collars. From former Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s debut runway collection for Valentino to Chanel, fashion’s top dogs have deemed spring-summer 2025 the time for “ruffs” to enter the chat, peeking out of jackets like statement jewellery.

Boudoir Dressing

Designers this season are blurring the lines between the bedroom and the boardroom with their boudoir-inspired pieces. Even before Paris Fashion Week, Nensi Dojaka showcased sexy lingerie in collaboration with Calvin Klein on the catwalk, and in Paris, Balenciaga and Stella McCartney put their high-fashion spin on the trend with garter belts and sheer panelling. Black is often the easiest way to tap into the trend, but Valentino showed how a fur-cuffed kimono, lace tights and camisole dress in neutral hues can achieve the same come-hither effect.

XXXL Bags

In addition to setting off a shopping frenzy for ludicrously capacious suede totes, The Row’s Margaux bag has seemingly inspired other brands to create larger-than-life tote bags for spring. And by large, we mean bags so roomy you could probably fit your toddler in it (but please don’t try it at home, folks). Balenciaga’s large Rodeo bag this year is giving way to an even-larger carryall, styled with a “priority” luggage tag to prove it’s place in your travel routine, while Stella McCartney’s giant leather bags feature a sleek wave-like shape to help it sit comfortably under the arm.

Peep-toe Shoes 2.0

If Paris Fashion Week trends are anything to go by, these guys are back. We know, who would have thought that the peep-toe pumps of the ‘90s and ’00 would be coming back in style? Thankfully we’re not talking about those platform office pumps that everyone kept under their desks at work. Designers have given the *relatively* comfortable shoe style a little update in the form of an elongated toe (see Acne Studios) or in a sport fabric (a la Miu Miu) so you can pound the pavement in style.
