I’ve spent the past five years reviewing loungewear, nightwear and lingerie – from shapewear and strapless bras to pyjamas and tracksuits – and trust me when I say that no brand has impressed me more. Sure, I have a few other firm favourites (the SKIMS Black Friday sale is good, too) – but if we’re talking brands that I tested with little expectation (which then blew me away), Lounge is it.
ICYMI, Lounge was founded in central England nearly a decade ago by a husband-and-wife team. They started off selling lingerie only – pieces that were designed to empower women in their everyday lives. From sexy lingerie to wireless bras (I literally live in their Everyday Essentials collection as a fan of comfort over colour and lace), everything is such good quality. And not too expensive, either. Unsurprisingly, word got out – they’ve launched collaborations with Emily Ratakowski, and influencers Sophia and Cinzia, of The Girls Bathroom-fame – and the brand quickly amassed a loyal army of fans. Now, they stock loungewear sets, sweatshirts and swimwear, and even recently ventured into ready-to-wear clothing. Think: tailoring, Christmas party dresses, loafers, trending rugby shirts and jeans.
